Sungkai Buffet : TT Blues Cafe

Tel : 242 4527
Note : Free for children under 3 years old

I was invited by Thanis along with other fellow bloggers to try out TT Blues Sungkai Buffet and after knowing that they’ve got a new chef who previously worked in Hilton Singapore as sous chef, I was really excited!

(And kept wondering how different will the menu be as compared to Buccaneer’s since it’s just $1 price difference)

Below are the piccies of food with no captions because… on the day we went, the food was not labeled so apart from knowing it’s chicken, fish, prawns.. we all have no idea what were the exact names of those we gobbled down)

I really love the lamb and the chicken! And also the fact that the chicken was in bite size, tender and de-boned!! What’s there not to love! Seriously, for just $10 (with a 10 cents change)… I have to say we (customers) are all spoiled with options!

They have everything covered!
Veggies, soup, fish, lamb, chicken, prawn, ice creams, green bean soup, assorted cakes and keuhs!

Two words, THUMBS UP!

The bloggers and medias with the chef.

When we saw Thanis talking to the chef, we’re all surprised that he looks so young and started guessing his age!

Go guess go guess!

I’m going to hide the answer in white color font, just go and highlight

*here* 25! *to here*

Sungkai Buffet : Thai Buccaneer

Went to Thai Buccaneer (I can finally spell BUCCANEER! Double C and double E!) with my lovely colleagues yesterday for the Sungkai buffet, in conjunction with Larry’s belated birthday celebration organized by his girlfriend. Yes, office relationship! Now I need to hear you all gasp! Hahahhahahahhaah!!!

P1110682

P1110653
Their Menu from 12 Aug to 26 Aug. Nothing fancy to be honest.

P1110654

  P1110656
The setting

To be honest, nothing tickles me when I saw what’s on the menu…

P1110657
Too spicy for me but I love the peanuts. Umm.. I can’t take spicy food so it would be nothing for you spicy-lovers out there. I know, I don’t like sweet stuffs, I can’t take spicy food.. Very un-woman-ish.

P1110660

Beef stew and Fish Fingers.
AHhhh… these 2 nyaman~

P1110661
Sambal Egg… very super the mediocre!
It’s just deep fried boiled egg with sambal spread on top…

P1110662
Green Curry Chicken
Not bad..

P1110663
Veggies (sorry.. I suck in identifying green leafy veggies) in oyster sauce

P1110664
Banana cake, fruits platter, ABC, Mango juice and Bandung

P1110665
Prawn crackers, buns and breads.

P1110668
The starchy corn soup with super limited corn kernels. Seriously, even canned soup beat the crap out of it.

P1110669
Bibi R, Arina, Nonnie and Zeti, with a blurry Nyallau at the back.

P1110691
And this, is all of us.

That’s my very first Sungkai buffet for the year and.. it’s rather disappointing. Their ala carte dishes are usually great but definitely a different case when it comes to buffet. When we exited our private corner, I saw some of the customers.. okay, most of the customers were ordering from the menu despite of the “promotional $9 sungkai buffet”.

Am going to TT Blues tomorrow.
Hope I won’t be disappointed again~

Sayur makan….

I don’t know why some people thought being a teacher is all about routine job. Kids are fun to be with and they stories about them never cease to make us all laugh. Like this particular one that happened few days ago.

My colleague Suzie brought her Pra students to my lab wanting me to show some youtube videos on growing mung beans. That’s what they’re going to do next week, teaching the kids about responsibility and the life of plant.

And when everyone was paying attention to the video, a little girl’s voice came and said….

“Cigu… sayur pun makan coklat kah?”

She thought the mud was chocolate! How cute!
Hahahahhahhahahahahha!!!!

So tell me.. what’s so boring about being a teacher?

Banane!

I first saw it in 康熙来了,when 陈汉典 impersonated Xiao S’s mother 徐媽媽. I thought it’s a DIY bag, a joke to make the character complete but no! Such bag do exist!

Let me introduce you… BANANE!

I have always always wanted a Birkin but it’s just seem too far and impossible for me to reach it. And now there’s Banane! LOL!

Well.. at least it’s not some “Authentic Replicas” sold in facebook.

It’s even on the same page with some big names in the industry!

I don’t know.. maybe you think it’s unnecessary but I thought it’s really cute and quirky. I’ll settle for a Banane for the time being since Birkin is so so so so out-of-reach. (At least I can trash it without feeling guilty or heartbroken)

I adore spacious bag!

As for the price… USD 49.99 each and another USD20 for the delivery charges.

Hi Bobby, boh lui buay Birkin, eh tang buay Banane hor wa… hor hor hor???

It’s happening again..

Remember this post?

Oh well, it’s happening again this year. Same same!

There, the seventh month is here. And I will stay at home as much as I can at night. I will only go out with my Muslim friends because their side nada hantu. LOL.

Gentle reminder to everyone, I know Sungkai buffet is worth the money, you’re very hungry after fasting for the whole day… but remember, don’t pile up your plate with food and later chuck it aside because you’re already bored with it or feeling bloated.

Food crisis and water crisis are happening in other countries now and don’t think it’s none of our business. Sooner or later we will all rasa.

Sekian terima kasih.

Pereri…

My students from Year 1 love giving me their drawings, probably because I really cherish them and stick them up on the board in my lab.. Hence they felt appreciated. Maybe one day I’ll share with you the rest, if you’re interested in princesses and how great and beautiful “teacher noni” is. LMAO!

And today, I received another one.

P1110621

The original text was…
“Teacher noni jadi Peter”

I was confused! WHO IS THIS PETER? AND WHY AM I TURNING INTO THIS PETER GUY?! WHY WHY WHY WHY? WHY NOT ANGELINA (Jolie), or NICOLE (Kidman) or at least MEI MEI (From Upin & Ipin, you ignorant people who don’t watch cartoon)?

She gave an awkward smile, pranced around me and lastly, asked for the paper and a pencil… Scribbled scribbled on the floor and gave me back and bounced away.

This time its,

Teacher noni jadi Pereri

dot dot dot

I’m pretty sure she meant “puteri” and I insist! Hello, got tiara okay. Don’t you dare argue with me! Humph!

Wipers

This,
P1110616
is my car wiper for 4 years….

I’m sorry but when it comes to car maintenance.. I’ll probably score max 25%. The only thing I do loyally is sending the car for servicing every 5000km.

And.. it is only on today when my friend, LimKitKeith

P1110525
(a man who now has so so so many amulets and Buddha chanting CDs in his car)

   P1110524
(and ate DQ while driving… Hi HSE officers, can you please pakat him?)

(I digress)

He came over and helped me pasang the wipers I baru know one.. P1110617

The length of wipers may not be equally same size!

sakai-ing…

Mine is 24” and 16”.

And… according to him.. it’s not advisable to lift up your wipers when parking because it might actually caused the hinges to be lose and over time, the wipers might not be intact to your windscreen.

Well.. then again, people lift up their wipers because they’re afraid of the heat causing premature hardening of the wiper rubber. Or, because they don’t want sand or leaves to be trapped and cause scratches when wipers activated.

I don’t know.
But I know I’ll curse when someone kacau-kacau lift my wipers up lah.

Furthermore.. my spanking new wipers have 2 years warranty on the silicon and it’s heatproof. Canggih eh!
