4 years to go…

It’s been quite some time since I last shared something personal in this blog. As you can see, this blog is slowly turning into either a travel / food blog. Most of the time it’s because there’s nothing much going on with my life, or… I choose not to share with the public. And also, I get a little bored with blogging because I don’t find the hype of posting the usual stuffs that seems not interesting for (if still exists) my readers out there.

Anyway, here I am… Blogging this post because it marks another milestone of my life.
(Speaking of which, I have not blogged about my wedding reception! Oopss~)

I tried my luck applied for the LDP (Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan) or in English, in-service scheme last year. I wasn’t expecting much from it as here’s usually hundreds to thousands of people applying each year and the chances of getting it are pretty low. I even have ex-colleagues who applied 9 times (meaning 9 consecutive years) and still no news. And it was only my first time so I take it as an experience only… Forms filling experiences hahahahhahahaa. (THE FORMS TO FILL IN ARE LIKE… CRAZY BANYAK!)

And last June, I got a text from UBD asking me to collect my offer letter.

The feeling? Ecstatic!
But not yet…. Still got to wait for the final approval from JPA and when we attended the briefing, we’re told that even with the institute offer letter, we can only attend classes when we have the permission from JPA.

And a week later…. I finally got the approval!

It’s OFFICIAL!!!!!

4 years of students life again and I’m feeling excited and sad at the same time. I know I will be missing my awesome colleagues, my great bosses (principal and deputy principals) and also, my cute and manja students. One of my students even got mad and said, “Teacher why are you leaving? We haven’t even graduate yet and you’re leaving us???? You cheat my feelings!” – that’s really emotional I know..

I’ve stayed in the same school for 6 years and this year’s year 6 students are really the kids whom I’ve been teaching from year 1 till now. I see them growing up and I so feel pretty sad that I won’t be seeing them passing their PSRs and promote to year 7. *but then again, if my class timetable allows, I’m so going to go back to my school and visit them all the time*

Find the teacher in the above photo.

And because of me leaving, my students who wished to participate in this year’s Kodu competition are forced to complete their work early and spent as much time as possible in the computer lab with me. And we even stay in school on Friday for several weeks to get it all done, albeit they pretty much enjoyed it and were really happy when I suggested it.

Attended the first briefing in UBD yesterday and got so many forms to fill again laaaaaaaa…

Most of my friends are really happy for me, okay… actually all of them lah and also, I get to see my husband more I guess since I’ll be in BSB every school day from now on for 4 years. But kasian my mom alone at home lah… Sigh..

Oh well, 4 more years to go…..

Wish me luck!

Teacher…. How to use this phone?

My seat in the staffroom is very near the phone and usually when students need to call home, they will probably asked for my permission. And today, justnow, I came across the question that made me speechless so quite some time!

Student: Teacher, may I use the phone?

Me: OK.

Student: *dials*

Student: Teacher……. Erm…. How to use the phone?

Me: *Thinking he probably made STD calls that’s why the dial tone is different since the phone is locked*

Me: You’re calling mobile phone or house phone? This phone cannot call mobile one.

Student: House…. *still looking puzzled*

Me: Huh! What do you mean “How to use the phone?” …. Just listen if there’s a ringing tone or not and wait for people to pick up lah…

Student": *listens* Oh yes yes, have already…

Me: *face palm*

Then it hit me… Most people doesn’t own a house phone now because it’s not necessary anymore. They can just use their mobile phone for calling, texting and even connect to the internet. Hence our younger generation not knowing how to use the telephone.

Kids these days are so used to smartphones … And because there’s no “CALL” button in the telephone hence they get confused. Which reminds me of this 9gag post too..

Sigh… Generation gap really….

Once in a while, SD gotta be fun!

We have SD (Staff development) every Tuesday and Wednesday (so Bobby Lim and all other dogpig friends, stop assuming I nap every afternoon okay!) and this week’s one is awesome!

First we had an invited speaker who talked to us about financial health check and then the next day, we had archery! Both were a lot of fun and we really learned something new.

When we saw the bow in BJ Archery, we were laughing that the bow is somewhat ‘taller’ than a lot of our colleagues and even our bosses joined in the mockery. My principal even joked that after she masters it, she’s going to send memo to teachers using bow and arrows!

Didie’s Thirty-ish belated birthday surprise

The initial plan was… surprising her in Sugarbun because it’s near to our work place, less crowd hence we can be as loud as we want… which that’s what we are best in!

The only photo I took in Sugarbun.

But then……..the clueless pregnant mummy forgot to bring the gift and cake so we had to come up with plan B, which is celebrate in work place. So we all headed back to school and waited for the birthday girl to come together with Sheepy and Shirley. Sekali that two bimbos didn’t make Didie stay and didie terus drove off!

Panicked, I quickly called Didie and lied saying she need to come back to school right away because there’s an urgent letter that need to be sent off to the office in Seria. And she believed. Hahhahahaa. I’m damn good in lying! Most probably because I’m serious and pemarah at work so my colleagues usually will listen to me.

Her gift and cake, which she hinted soOOoOooOoOooOo many times that, “I don’t have any cake this year”

Moo Moo Cake with no candles but a “Thirty-ish” flag.

Getting ready for the surprise.

And.. here come’s the birthday girl!

Look at the expression on her face, priceless!
Banar banar shock ni.

She was worried about the urgent letter and suddenly this. She only registered after a while that the whole thing was just a lie.

Surprise birthday girl~

Group photo without me, Z and BBR.

Thank you self-timer, else I wouldn’t be able to be in the photos.

Guess how old is she!

Unwrapping… Look how bored Vky was!

Her ‘gifts’ in the box were actually all her junks in her drawers. We just put it all in to create to make her thing that her gift is something else, with all the weight.

Photoshopped her "real gift” in to the above photo.
The bag.

Oh, and also drew one on the mahjong paper.
Her other gift was stick on the box, can you see?

Yeap, an “OutOfTunes” card I spent the whole Sunday Morning making.
It’s worth it.

Her “birthday” moo-moo cake from Lof.

April…. 3 of my colleagues have birthday in April. Kapeh eh!

The makan trip that went wrong

So, the initial plan was driving up to BSB just for Nasi Penyet in Pondok Sari Wangi. And we reached there at almost 3pm and ate our lunch. I know, super gung-ho right.

After eating, we went to the Mall jalan-jalan and met up with Reduan, our ex-colleague and went to Swensen for icecream. This trip was nothing but a weight-gaining trip really.

And when we’re happily eating ice cream, Arina told us her story of surprise disappointment. Twice she experienced waiters taking a birthday cake and singing birthday song when she’s out dining with her family, thinking that it was for her, she was acting really enthusiastic about it and…. the waiters just walked passed her and put the cake down on the neigbouring table. Not once, but twice she encountered disappointment like that. Kasian kan..

Hence we planned to surprise her, since her birthday was just around the corner. We split into 3 group, one go get the bag she likes in Charles & Keith, I went to get the cake and the last group kept her entertained and stay connected with us.

And the plan worked out just right!

Birthday girl was really really happy.

So, after everyone finished shopping, makan happily, it’s time to go home. It was already almost 6pm so we thought we can be back home before 7.30.. and guess what

human count might as well sky count!
(please use direct Chinese translation)

Tyre puncture!

Since I’m the only one who knows how to change tyre, I’m actually quite prepared to get my hands dirty but God really loves us, a kind-hearted couple who parked next to us helped us!

Mr. 411

While Deedz was calling Reduan to come back and rescue us (send her to Serusop to collect the burgers she ordered… –___-“)

The girls learning… but right after this photo was taken, 2 of them went to “communist” and the rest of us just stood there and acted like bimbos… (except for me, hahahhaa)

By the time the tyre was done, it was already 7pm. And we still need to go to Pasar Malam Gadong so we split into two teams, I drove the girls to pasar gadong, whereas Deedz and Bibi.R went to Serusop with Reduan and meet up in Giant Rimba once we’re all done.

I got home at 9.30pm!!! Tired, smelly and feeling real ugly.

Anyways, I was happy that day because I bought a lot of stuffs.

(And I know FussyKelly is going to say I’ve changed! No more karit-king. Wait till you see what I bought ah)

Cute polka dot super comfy pant – $6.90
Leggings – $3.90
Cotton dress (plan to wear to sleep.. think wear out also can) – $5!
Earphones – $7.90
Ring – $3.90

And my favorite of all…
Leopard print Clutch!

It’s so pretty!!!! And only $19.90!!!!!!
I saw it on Monday and thought.. if I see it again, I will definitely buy it because we’re all in a hurry that time. Then yesterday before our movie showed, I dragged Bobby to Utama Grand and bought it.

So in love with it now~

Free Meal

After the 100 Days project.. I really don’t know what to update in my blog. Maybe just my daily ramblings.. if you all don’t mind.

Today after our usual Tuesday meeting/sharing session/bengkel/taklimat, we went to our usual spot to chillax. What the huckleberry! I am using the word CHILLAX!!!

Anyways, I only ordered a glass of kasturi teh ping and the rest of my colleagues each ordered something. When all the food arrived, the girls immediately said the portion was too big for them and asked me to share a bit. I took an empty plate, and started to go seat by seat scoping food from their plate… and ended up with this!

One big plate of food!

Clockwise from upper left: Roti John HK style, maggi goreng, mamak maggi goreng (my new found favorite, very refreshing, not as lemak as other place) and fries with cheese sauce.

They all laughed when saw my plate (pasal penuh!) and said must take picture and post in fb or my blog. So here is it, me blogging it.

Boh dui… karang kana ucap I karit again, leaching on people’s food…

Super full now.
Told mom no need to prepare dinner for me and she cut 2 oranges for me.
Healthy also. Hehehehhee.
