4 years to go…

It’s been quite some time since I last shared something personal in this blog. As you can see, this blog is slowly turning into either a travel / food blog. Most of the time it’s because there’s nothing much going on with my life, or… I choose not to share with the public. And also, I get a little bored with blogging because I don’t find the hype of posting the usual stuffs that seems not interesting for (if still exists) my readers out there.

Anyway, here I am… Blogging this post because it marks another milestone of my life.
(Speaking of which, I have not blogged about my wedding reception! Oopss~)

I tried my luck applied for the LDP (Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan) or in English, in-service scheme last year. I wasn’t expecting much from it as here’s usually hundreds to thousands of people applying each year and the chances of getting it are pretty low. I even have ex-colleagues who applied 9 times (meaning 9 consecutive years) and still no news. And it was only my first time so I take it as an experience only… Forms filling experiences hahahahhahahaa. (THE FORMS TO FILL IN ARE LIKE… CRAZY BANYAK!)

And last June, I got a text from UBD asking me to collect my offer letter.

The feeling? Ecstatic!
But not yet…. Still got to wait for the final approval from JPA and when we attended the briefing, we’re told that even with the institute offer letter, we can only attend classes when we have the permission from JPA.

And a week later…. I finally got the approval!

It’s OFFICIAL!!!!!

4 years of students life again and I’m feeling excited and sad at the same time. I know I will be missing my awesome colleagues, my great bosses (principal and deputy principals) and also, my cute and manja students. One of my students even got mad and said, “Teacher why are you leaving? We haven’t even graduate yet and you’re leaving us???? You cheat my feelings!” – that’s really emotional I know..

I’ve stayed in the same school for 6 years and this year’s year 6 students are really the kids whom I’ve been teaching from year 1 till now. I see them growing up and I so feel pretty sad that I won’t be seeing them passing their PSRs and promote to year 7. *but then again, if my class timetable allows, I’m so going to go back to my school and visit them all the time*

Find the teacher in the above photo.

And because of me leaving, my students who wished to participate in this year’s Kodu competition are forced to complete their work early and spent as much time as possible in the computer lab with me. And we even stay in school on Friday for several weeks to get it all done, albeit they pretty much enjoyed it and were really happy when I suggested it.

Attended the first briefing in UBD yesterday and got so many forms to fill again laaaaaaaa…

Most of my friends are really happy for me, okay… actually all of them lah and also, I get to see my husband more I guess since I’ll be in BSB every school day from now on for 4 years. But kasian my mom alone at home lah… Sigh..

Oh well, 4 more years to go…..

Wish me luck!

A proud D.I.E-r

After 10 months of going back to student’s life and not forgetting to mention, salary-less for that long period of time, stressing myself out wondering how was I going to cope with pressure of paying my monthly expenses without asking a penny from my parents and the kiasu-ness in me of wanting to prove to the rest of the world that I can, or actually, it’s just me myself, I finally made it through!

With flying rainbow colors lagi~

P1060292
Auntie I mean, Mom (I seriously need to quit the habit of calling my mum auntie just to tease her) and Chocolate Pau.

  • Using ITB robe because it’s borrowed from a friend’s friend, *cough* F.O.C.
  • Many thanks to Soly for lending me her killer pointy heels which I tak sanggup to wear for more than 15 minutes and also Norol for lending me the super nice $40 tudung because the one provided was too starchy and made me look like a super Pau!
  • A kind pretty young girl who lend her black diploma robe for photoshoot too. Hahahhhaa.
  • Yeap, head to toes all pinjam orang one. Tudung, robe, shoes~
  • Karitness rocks!
  • Alex said, “Wah bargain convo! You memang terror”
  • Of course, don’t play play~

P1060295
(The killer heels mentioned above. I nearly died walking up from the carpark to ICC lah!)

(Pau or not? Pau till no tomorrow ah! – Photo taken during full-dressed rehearsal)

Hahahhaha! Like my friend said, “Eh nebermine bah, you got Lulus dengan Cemerlang, who cares you Pau or not….”

True true true.

*Hidung tinggi*

Hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa hwa!

Not yet not yet.
Got one more more steady one. Scare die you I tell you!

 P1060322

Pardon me for being such a kanasai lansi girl.
I just couldn’t help it….

What? I didn’t buy anything to “encourage” myself okay…
So just let me puji-diri in my blog la.

As a matter of fact, I didn’t get anything, NOTHING, TAK ADA, for this super blink-till-you-blind-flying-colors-result lor.

Sad hor?

Why oh why?
Can someone (in UBD) tell me why am I not awarded the book prize?

In-service no need encouragement?
One-year diploma course is not as important as others?

So yeah, just bear with me for being so snobbish here.
I need to balance sikit.

Anyway, I was interviewed by Pilihan this morning (I think it’s just a random pick) and… I think I was tad too straight-forward….

“Tell us more about yourself. Your name and the course you took”

“Hi, I’m Nonnie and I took Diploma in Education bracket in service”

(Ya, WTFish to the max right? I actually did said out the “bracket in service” … –_-?)

After like 3, 4 questions answered….

“So, can you give any suggestions, tips or any comments to those who’s currently working and maybe can take course like you?”

“Go for it! Better salary and job perspective! Why not right?”

Good Nonnie very good… You just told the whole world how much you love money.
Very good.
Super good.

“And are you going to further your studies again in the future?”

“Definitely!”

“It would be in UBD or overseas?”

“UBD… because it’s nearer to home.”

You see Nonnie King, this is why you suck in networking and socializing.
Cannot think of better answers meh?
Why didn’t you mention UBD is very good, I love UBD that sort of answers meh?
Ee yer!

But to be honest, I would be really really grateful if I can take degree or even master in UBD. I don’t ask for much, I just to improve/upgrade providing better future for my family and also next generations.

Anyway, I have to wait till my friends upload photos to FB then I can share with you all my convo pictures. I super obey the rules loh. I didn’t brought bag, food, camera and mobile phone in the hall, unlike most of my friends who smuggled in those stuffs putting them all in a clutch and put it under their armpits.

So yeah…
Blog again soon.

This is, I think, maybe last entry categorized under “A Student’s Life”.

Convo Drama

WHY IS SOLIYATY ANGGIYANIE SITTING SO FAR AWAY FROM ME MASA CONVO????????

Eee yer!

She had been next to me whenever we’re seen together wa!
We have the same pace, same thoughts, same type of silly humour that only both of us understand.

Ai yer!

And her melodramatic-self today screamed the same in FB too.

sol

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!
So funny Mett’s comment lah.

Anyway, tomorrow have to reach ICC by 6.15am ler.
Meaning, have to start driving from Seria at 5am… maybe?
I just hope I won’t snooze my alarm.

And hor, I was super-duper mad at this stupid time-waster on Monday. She made me waited for her for 45 minutes!!!!!

Okay la, I know if you have to minta tolong from someone, have to tahan la… But then, this one … I really don’t know what to say lah.

I have zero patience when it comes to punctuality! 15 minutes of waiting time is like my maximum tolerance already.

Before that day, I had already texted her that I would be going to BSB on Monday and meet her in the afternoon since she lives in Tutong. And on Monday itself, while I was on my way back to Seria, I sms-ed her asking for her address. But with my limited knowledge on geographical location in Tutong, I opted for an easier choice, let’s just meet at Hua Ho Tutong, if it’s not too far from her.

She replied, Ok. Are you coming from KB now?

No, I’m already in Tutong.

Ok, just wait. I take shower first.

What the……
I already told her that I was in Tutong liao yet she wanted to take a shower first.

So okay la… no choice.
I need the favor from her.
Cannot complain….

I texted her again telling her that I need to get back to Seria by 3.45pm.
And it was approaching 3pm that time.

So I waited …. and waited… and waited in Hua Ho. I got nothing to buy and I suck in shopping. Very sien la…

Then 3.30pm liao (30 minutes okay! I don’t wait that long for people one.) , she’s still not here yet.
I sms-ed her asked if she’s coming or not.
She replied “otw”.

Then…. I waited … and waited.. and waited again…
3.45pm…..
I sms-ed her again, telling her I really don’t have the time to wait already and asked if she’s reaching.

She replied,
“Give me few more minutes. You should have tell me earlier. I don’t drive a plane you know.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

I WANNA STRANGLE HER LAHHHHHH

Cry also no tears ah…!!!!

Okay. Ending rant.

Anyway, I’m joining the JPMC car boot sale this coming Sunday.
But I have not prepared for anything yet.
Die lah.

Then convo this Saturday.
I only have this Friday to prepare everything la….

Then, I don’t have umbrella lagi in the car.

And, I have no idea how car boot sales look like.
And, how to arrange the items ah?
And, sure very hot hor? No shelter one…
And, and, and,

okay la okay la

I will be rajin to update Spirithrift.

Snippets of memories

This is a boring post… for those who wasn’t involved in my life during my teenage years.

I was digging stuffs in the wardrobe, or.. I should say, my mum’s “black hole” which she put stuffs that she bought, and forgot about it/couldn’t find it anymore, and found lots of …. memories~

My school tie….

01

Autographed by my ex-classmates on the last day of school.

02

I was quite nah-men that how come 48 didn’t sign on it one, sekali I find find find very long baru noticed it.

03

Then I found my old tamagotchi dog-gotchi?!

04

Damn popular back in the days.
Too poor to buy the original tamagotchi (which will evolved to different kind of funny looking pets), my puppy in dog-gotchi only will grown up to one thing, an adult dog.

*boring*

Look look!05

My secondary 2 pencil case!!!

This pencil case had a very funny story.

Once upon a time, there lived… and still living, two best friends studying in the same class. One day, King went shopping in Long-Hua and saw this nice pencil box. It was $7.90.

She went back home happily and her best friend 48 called her up, and told her she bought a new pencil case too, in Long-hua too, $7.90 too, got a cartoon cat too!

Then, they paused.

”Mine have the word “Hello Caper Cat” wor..”
”Mine have also wor…, then got the words “something good” below wor”
”…. Mine also wor..”
“….. we… have the pencil case ah?”
”HAHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHAA. LUI AH!”

Then, the next day when they go to school.. really wor. They bought the exact same pencil box. And, Ah Kai had a bad time telling the difference and always took the wrong person’s pencil box.

The end.

.. told you it’s going to be a boring post.
The only person who is chuckling while reading this is 48.

POLLY POCKET!

06

I like the old one better lor. The new one looks a bit … pre-teen-ish.

And Garden Circlings, look at this!

07

I gave myself 10/10 for not vandalizing, littering and spitting.
And, if you can read Chinese, you can tell that I am.. was… not a person with much gratitude and take orders well from elders.

Hey, at least I’m being honest here.

08
Bookmarks with meaningful poems.

09

My favorite basketball player from Slam Dunk, after no.5 Kiminobu Kogure 木暮 公延. I have a thing for nerdy guys with glasses. Like, my favorite power ranger is the blue Billy, because he’s the geek in it. And, my favorite ninja turtle is Donatello, the brainy one controlling the complicated dashboard in the van.

And this,

10
was my birthday gift for my 16th birthday, from a bunch of stupid childish friends.

They had a mini celebration for me in SL’s house, and… they boiled an egg for me (and it’s not even RED!), wrapped SL’s fruits in the house like bananas, apples and oranges plus some coconut candies, and gave it to me as birthday gift.

Sibeh “sincere”.

11

12

SL’s

13
48’s.

Funny ah, after so many years we’re still quite attached to each other.
Too bad 48 mou-lui-gong so far la. If not I think by this time I think I’m mao-ing at her place and open up all her drawers just to kpo.

I was part of Interact Club.

14

The only club I joined because mother said Scout is too dangerous wor… and Red Cross, I forgot why I didn’t join that liao.

And look what I found!

15

My uniform!!!!

Not bad leh!

16
I can still fit in it, forcefully…..
Nearly died of suffocation.

Looking at the above picture, I really didn’t change much la.
Still the same ol’ quirky person.

And lastly….

17

Sentiment values okay!
Told you my mum is more hebat in keeping junks than I do!
Although, the baby bracelet tag is definitely not classified as "junk”.

19

20. Digress. Continued packing while the girls were mopping the floor in the common room

20

One hell of a mess right..

21. The second batch of baggage to move into the car

21

22. Time to TWIST!
(After they mopped the floor)

22

Er… no pictures of us playing the twister because there’s none presentable in this blog.

23. Brush your teeth after every meal

23

Aww… I really really miss this part of hostel life. We would normally knock on each other’s door and jio friend to brush teeth, wash face together, sambil gossip lah. I guess it’s an upgrade version of kindergarten kids holding hand together to go toilet and see each other peeing..

24. Dragged our tilams to the common room

24

First time in my life I get to sleep with aircon in the hostel man. I felt so xingfu that I nearly wet my pants and cried.

25. Played Black Jack with Monopoly money
(They’re We’re super innocent okay)

25

26. I won!

26

27. Time to sleep.

27

5 of us sharing only 3 tilams. You have no idea how freaking heavy our tilams are  And.. the 2nd and 4th person in the row constantly get stuck in between the gaps.

LOL. Like masuk longkang.

Now, there’s something that I should really feel guilty about that night. I was fast asleep that night because:
1) AIRCON!!!!!!!!
2) It was my last day of exam and I was too knackered to function properly.

And… I woke up realising ChaiWen, the girl who was sleeping beside me was gone!!! I asked her why she disappeared and she gave me an awkward smile saying, “Sorry ah Nonnie… er… you… er… snored. I couldn’t sleep so I went back to my room…”

FML.

Funny because it was what that happened to me when I slept over at Soly’s and told her that she snored so loudly that I couldn’t sleep. Sekali the next day terus ketulahan. So malu can die okay.

28. Moving my stuff out from my room first.

28

Then signed in my name so that the guards will open the “pagar” and I can drive in my car to the block so no need walk so far.

29. Them waving goodbye from the room. I miss this as well.

29

I remembered every time I walked back to the block, I would look from outside seeing whose room has their lights turned on to see who's at “home” and who’s not so can barge in their rooms later.

30. My last day sleeping in the warm room

30

31. The blanket… so thick… that it’s used as decoration nia..

31

32. Bye… bilik buruk. LOL.

32

33. Okay, here’s a bonus picture for you all..

33

Apparently, I look super Malay with tudung. Had to wear it for some role-playing thingie. Hehehhee. Sad also, this is the very last picture of me and my room.. And the “Pig In/Out” hanger is just lying around my room now not in used.

Bye student life.
