Sometimes, I need a little impulse in purchasing

Impulse buying have never really apply on me, unless the item costs less than $10, or maybe $20. I’m just that analytical when it comes to purchase. Haih. Don’t know if it’s a good thing or bad. Seriously, you wouldn’t want to go shopping with me because I will stop you from buying things.. that is, if the item is really unnecessary.

Take for example, the tv in my room.

I’ve been saying since forever that I need a new tv because the current one has no blue color. You get what I mean? As in… the images shown are all displayed in either red, yellow or green. No blue sky, only green sky and sometimes I can’t even tell what color was that woman wearing. It’s a 20 years old Sony which my mom insists in keeping despite of the color distortion.

I’d done a lot of surveying but… still no action taken.

Maybe.. I’m just waiting for a lucky draw prize.
Hahahhaha.

*slow slow wait lah, wait long then will have - 个屁啊*

And lately, I’m caught in a dilemma of, whether I should get that bag or not.

A friend is coming back from UK and I know she can help me get it. As you know… price is always cheaper over there for bags. I saw a Burberry New Check Nylon tote pricing at £450.00 but, my friend bought it for about BND1,400 from Hong Kong. Few hundreds different!

I digress.

I was saying that I am thinking whether or not should I get the bag.

I love big bags because they’re like Doraemon’s pocket! Neverfull (NF) is definitely a good choice.

I like this because:

  • Roomy!
  • it’s low maintenance (which is very important to me)
  • the gorgeous red interior
  • Shoulder straps (Not into top handles as.. I like my hands free)

Hmm.. Damier Azur looks yummy too!

See how indecisive I am!

But, I’m worried about the peeling straps as I read from most forums because it tends to happen to Ebene. If something *knock wood* really happens, how am I going to send it for repair?

Should I get it.. or, save the money and go for my dream (Chanel 2.55)?

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The look of my new identity

Know what’s the two most-asked questions ever since I uploaded photos of me wearing tudung accepting the certificates?

1. Ehh .. laa…. napa nada pakai tudung? Lawa waahhhhhhh….

My answer:
a. to people whom I’m not so close to – Panas.

b. to people who biasa with my style – Lawa my ass, so bulat the face (lawa ke pi ahhh…)

Note: The “lawa ke pi ahhh” actually meanings “lawa the fart”.. umm.. Chinese slang.

2. Bah, bila masuk Islam?

My answer:
a. to people whom I’m not so close to – Heh heh heh, err…. liat jodoh lah…

b. to people who biasa with me – Don’t want lah, I cannot give up eating pork.

Alright, enough of randomness.. let me share with you all my sizzling hot IC which I just collected today~

P1100495

Gone were the days that you need to show your forehead and ears!!!! Wooohooo!!!!

Though, I looked like I was wearing some 80s purple lipstick with semi-brows and an invincible nose bridge… I still think that this looks way better compare to my previous one. And no, I will not show you how I looked like 10 years ago with a face that Bobby described as… “Pineapple”.

I hate my boyfriend sometimes.

My milk shake is better than yourssss

When I told my friends that I’m collecting the stamps from Supa Save… my friends took one step backward and looked at me in horror. “WHAT THE?! YOU COLLECTING STAMPS FOR WHAT?! YOU BUYING THE WOK HAH? SO AUNTIE ONE YOU!”

A ba a ba, I auntie lah….

*roll eyes*

My mom very okay with it though.. Hehehehe. She even helped me out not by giving me stamps… SHE FOUND ME A FORM WITH COMPLETE 20 STAMPS! You say geng or not?!

And so, today I finally can happy happy go buy the thing I want liao.

Guess which one?

P1100490

Actually… I like the Healthsmart Grill one… but, I still not that extreme auntie yet.
Yeap, I chose the Shake Creations!

Woohoooo!!!!

I was quite happy that I opened up the box once I got home only to realize the exact same disappointment that happened when I last made pies from my Breville Pie Makers..

The plug…

P1100488

Gah.. Have to go buy universal adapter tomorrow.

Maybe next week, since I’m banning myself from cold drinks this few days… you know, the “monthly inconvenience”. I’m a very discipline when it comes to that and I’ll try to avoid washing my hair (maximum 2 days also lah) and strictly no cold drinks and desserts. Hence, no migraine and cramps for me! *knock wood*

I don’t know how many of you girls out there stick to that belief but, it’s working for me though.

Hello May

A friend told me that my blog seems… uninteresting but it’s okay. I’m the one who “uninterestified” it anyway. Over the years, I’ve been more careful about blogging. I don’t want to blog anything about my friends because they seemed very against it. I don’t want to blog about my work because I’d got warned before. I don’t want to blog about my feelings and emotions because I know I’ll feel embarrassed about it like 10 minutes after publishing and terus delete it.

So there, I’m left with mindless stuff to blog. No complications, no controversies.

It’s only interesting when I post about my travelogues but I won’t be doing any travelling till September…

So how?

But the fact is, I’m actually enjoying my life! I have random outings with friends doing some sort-of adventurous stuffs like waiting for 30mins for a 20mins ride on ATV at Tungku beach. Trying out new restaurants and I don’t know, the first quarter of 2010 treated me so good that I don’t have any complains at all. Hence, less rant in this blog too.

Oh, I stumbled on this baby photo of mine…

P1040573

I know, with some gold studs… I’m definitely looking like a Ghurka baby. Wide-spread eyes, garlic nose and I guess the only part that’s cute is my chubbiness. Heard from my mom that people loved to pinch my layers.

And, how the heck they get that bangle out of my sausage hand?!

Ma-MMa-Mi-Aaaaa!

We don’t live our names “Chalie Chubbies” for no reason. As you know,
Sikit-sikit, lama-lama jadi LEMAK!

P1100428
on our way to chubbiness~
Oh, that purple leggings was only like… B$9? as most of the boutiques here are selling them for more than B$15. Where else but eBay!

Before heading to Da Mammamia (Oops! I think I forgot to mention that we’re going there, but I guess the title of the post is quite obvious), I read from Mau’s and Pab’s blog posts on what’s good to order.

P1100406
Loving the orange walls and the furniture.

I have no idea how the previous restaurant (Dunes) looked like but for Da Mammamia, those little decors on the walls and shelves are really cute, especially the trumpet.

P1100408
Enjoying the food while seeing busy people on the road

P1100403
Bobby’s Orange & Pear Juice and my Apple Tea.
(Lost the receipt so I can’t really remember the proper name)

P1100410
Bruschetta – my favorite of the day

I really really love the bruschetta because the texture of the bread was really different. Read from Pabs that Da Mammamia makes their own bread and that’s the reason why you must really try that. It’s not your average baguette bought from Supa Save or Soon Lee bakery with chopped tomatoes, olive oil and herbs. The bread wasn’t soggy and the sides crunched! Yums!

P1100412
Calzone, or the folded pizza.

P1100414
Bobby knifing it.

P1100416
Oooohhhhhh! Look at that yummy cheesy goodness!

I guess it’s the anticipation while opening it the calzone which made the food fun. Not forgetting, it tasted good too. Bobby loved the pizza dough the most.

P1100421
The Seafood Pasta, with crayfish and prawns. Al dente spaghetti with that sour and appetizing sauce. *slurps*

The total bills added up to B$39.00. Tad expensive for lunch but it’s quite worth the experience. Definitely going to have a second visit!

P1100424
Ending this post with the above photo. Hehehe.
Watched “When in Rome” with Bobby and had the whole cinema to ourselves.

Nah, I didn’t sit like that with my feet up, it was just for show. Numb kali ah!

Yellow

The song by Coldplay, which Martin the vocalist fit the word “yellow” in for all the missing key word… I like the story when a friend told me that how the word just fits in. It’s like, all the time in my life, what I’d been missing is “Yellow” too. The word that only Bruneians have close ties with and the colour so distinctively symbolizing the people. The word which motivates us all to be a better man in life and proves that we’re all worth it.

I’d been wanting to write this post for as long as I can. From the day I finally took the first step walking in the office, the moment I received the phone call, the day I sat for the test feeling all emotionally and physically drained but adrenaline rush was so strong that it made me going on writing on the paper non-stop for 2 hours, and finally…. the day I had the letter which made the huge turning point.

I only regret that I’d not done this earlier.

You know what I really dislike? People who complains a lot about the system and country who has already given them so much yet just sits there and do nothing about it. Whining about how life is unfair to them, what they deserve and what’s not being given. Hello friend, ask yourself, have you done anything to change the situation? Have you thought of a solution? Have you really go out and give it a try, making a difference? Or just waiting for Lady Luck to come knocking on your door?

Know what Cikgu Mansor said on the very first day for my “Yellow Boot Camp”?

Ask not what your country can do for you — Ask what you can do for your country. (quote John F. Kennedy)

Okay, enough of seriousness.
Let me share with you all my humble little journey of attaining my citizenship.

July 2007 – Sent in the application.

September 2008 – Received the phone call asking me if I’ll wanna sit for the test and get ready.

30th November 2008 – Sitting for the test / Mett & Soly’s Bersanding (which has nothing to do with my application anyway )

3rd June 2009 – Received the result letter.

6th January 2010 – Submitted the relevant documents for the process.

11th February 2010 – Oath of Citizenship.

24th April 2010 – Certificate Presentation at Songket Ballroom, Rizqun International Hotel

In between, we had several briefings telling us our duties and responsibilities as a citizen.

There, a journey which took me near to 3 years but it’s all worth it. I really appreciate that we’re all given an opportunity (actually, lots of them, we can keep trying even if we failed) and a huge thanks to His Majesty for this priceless gift and such momentous moment in our lives.

Now, I can finally proudly say that,
”SAYA ANAK BRUNEI!”

Here, some pictures taken during the certificate presentation.

“Hi, I’m NonnieLawaBrabis.”

To avoid the tudung slipping off, I wore a spa headband, those with velcro closing to cause more friction. It was really good, no hairs coming out and tudung stayed where it’s suppose to stay.

And.. my Charles and Keith bag looks like the Miu Miu Coffer.

Fitness Test

P1100401 P1100399

Yesterday I nearly died of this….

14 sit-ups in 30s
Tahan 31s for the pull-ups
12.05s for 4 x 10M shuttle run
Only 1.28M for standing-board jump
Only 24cm for Sit and Reach (Maybe I should sign up for yoga)
And lastly… 8 minutes for 1km run.

My BMI is just at the edge of being “fit” and I’ve gained weight after CNY.

And… I’m definitely this week’s bet.

Oh, Bobby and I had a bet.
We’ll weight every week and the one who loses more weight wins.
But.. so far I’ve not put any effort in my food intake and exercising.
Bye bye $5.
