Citrus Cafe Restaurant

Went to Miri last Saturday and because Bobby and I had no idea what to eat, I surfed through MakanManiacs and stumbled on this cafe they introduced.

Citrus Cafe has the ambience of a country cafe, lime green walls with quirky paintings, yes, very citrusy.

04

Bobby and i ordered, Granny Cutlet something something, appetizer to share.
Priced at RM 7.90, I was expecting two measly amount of meat in the burger patty, probably at the height of… 0.5cm.

But I was so damn wrong!

01

The portions were generous!
Crispy outside, juicy inside.

(We couldn’t finish it as we’re already half way down our main course. Ya, the supposing appetizer arrived after our main course.)

My Marina Rice, RM 12.90

02

with 2 big fat juicy mussels, some prawns, calamari and crabsticks.

Bobby’s breaded chicken with fries. I think its around RM12.90 too…

03

The size of of the bread chicken chop is huge!
With a diameter of.. I think… 18cm!

05

However, it took them a bloody long time to serve the food and luckily we’re not in a hurry. Almost 30mins for the main course and the appetizer, 15 minutes later.

06

Overall, I would score it 6.5 out of 10.
But, if the food arrives our table within 15 minutes, I’ll probably give it 8.5 out of 10.

Snippets of memories

This is a boring post… for those who wasn’t involved in my life during my teenage years.

I was digging stuffs in the wardrobe, or.. I should say, my mum’s “black hole” which she put stuffs that she bought, and forgot about it/couldn’t find it anymore, and found lots of …. memories~

My school tie….

01

Autographed by my ex-classmates on the last day of school.

02

I was quite nah-men that how come 48 didn’t sign on it one, sekali I find find find very long baru noticed it.

03

Then I found my old tamagotchi dog-gotchi?!

04

Damn popular back in the days.
Too poor to buy the original tamagotchi (which will evolved to different kind of funny looking pets), my puppy in dog-gotchi only will grown up to one thing, an adult dog.

*boring*

Look look!05

My secondary 2 pencil case!!!

This pencil case had a very funny story.

Once upon a time, there lived… and still living, two best friends studying in the same class. One day, King went shopping in Long-Hua and saw this nice pencil box. It was $7.90.

She went back home happily and her best friend 48 called her up, and told her she bought a new pencil case too, in Long-hua too, $7.90 too, got a cartoon cat too!

Then, they paused.

”Mine have the word “Hello Caper Cat” wor..”
”Mine have also wor…, then got the words “something good” below wor”
”…. Mine also wor..”
“….. we… have the pencil case ah?”
”HAHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHAA. LUI AH!”

Then, the next day when they go to school.. really wor. They bought the exact same pencil box. And, Ah Kai had a bad time telling the difference and always took the wrong person’s pencil box.

The end.

.. told you it’s going to be a boring post.
The only person who is chuckling while reading this is 48.

POLLY POCKET!

06

I like the old one better lor. The new one looks a bit … pre-teen-ish.

And Garden Circlings, look at this!

07

I gave myself 10/10 for not vandalizing, littering and spitting.
And, if you can read Chinese, you can tell that I am.. was… not a person with much gratitude and take orders well from elders.

Hey, at least I’m being honest here.

08
Bookmarks with meaningful poems.

09

My favorite basketball player from Slam Dunk, after no.5 Kiminobu Kogure 木暮 公延. I have a thing for nerdy guys with glasses. Like, my favorite power ranger is the blue Billy, because he’s the geek in it. And, my favorite ninja turtle is Donatello, the brainy one controlling the complicated dashboard in the van.

And this,

10
was my birthday gift for my 16th birthday, from a bunch of stupid childish friends.

They had a mini celebration for me in SL’s house, and… they boiled an egg for me (and it’s not even RED!), wrapped SL’s fruits in the house like bananas, apples and oranges plus some coconut candies, and gave it to me as birthday gift.

Sibeh “sincere”.

11

12

SL’s

13
48’s.

Funny ah, after so many years we’re still quite attached to each other.
Too bad 48 mou-lui-gong so far la. If not I think by this time I think I’m mao-ing at her place and open up all her drawers just to kpo.

I was part of Interact Club.

14

The only club I joined because mother said Scout is too dangerous wor… and Red Cross, I forgot why I didn’t join that liao.

And look what I found!

15

My uniform!!!!

Not bad leh!

16
I can still fit in it, forcefully…..
Nearly died of suffocation.

Looking at the above picture, I really didn’t change much la.
Still the same ol’ quirky person.

And lastly….

17

Sentiment values okay!
Told you my mum is more hebat in keeping junks than I do!
Although, the baby bracelet tag is definitely not classified as "junk”.

Supper

I totally let loose of myself yesterday by tapao-ing 50% discount sushi from Excapade, albeit the limited choices. Bobby’s fault. He said he was hungry and I layan-ed.

(And it was fun bumping into friends there! Hi!)

Okay, I admit it.

This is a filler post just to bring the previous “scary” post downwards for those who didn’t like it.

Carnival / Annual Leaves for the spirits

2009 is a very interesting year.

Why?

Because, today (20/08/2009) is the first day of the seventh month for Chinese calendar and tomorrow (21/08/2009), or Saturday (22/08/2009), will be the the start of Ramadan.

You get me now?
Not yet?
Bah.

In Chinese tradition, the seventh month in general is regarded as the Ghost Month (鬼月), in which ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors, come out from the lower realm.

Whereas for muslim on the other hand, there will be no ghost in the month of Ramadan.

See the conflict here?

BRIDEX 2009 + Cottage Grill

Made last minute decision of going to BRIDEX because the kiasu-genes in me wanted to go because “other people going also wor”.

Drove up to BSB and Bobby said meet at his place (Berakas) then use only one car to the exhibition hall. When I drove pass Jerudong Park, my jaw nearly drop and hit the steering wheel because, Oh My Happy Buddha! The queue started from JP entrance all the way to the fly over near the Jerudong petrol station!

36

Shutter Bus to the exhibition hall.

37

The Chubbies.

Arrived BRIDEX Hall at about 3pm.

01
Awed by the beautiful architecture.

I know it’s a bit rude to say but,
FINALLY! A MODERN LOOKING BUILDING IN BRUNEI!

Tried to camwhore with the beautiful dome as background but failed badly.

02

Should have brought my QuikPod along!

03
Free Teh-Tarik!

04

When I saw this, I was only thinking ..
"Hmm.. where can I get this? This is good to put my ojipalas!”

Tell you, I wasn’t concentrating in how advance the technology is or how powerful the weapons are..

05

I was just looking at the handbags and shoes other girls were carrying.

While Bobby was busy looking at missiles, I constantly pulled his shirt and forced him to check out the bags with words like,

“Bi bi bi! See see! Nice or not the Burberry tote?”

and,

“Hmm.. I wonder if it’s real… "

06

Our kids *fingers crossed* are so not going to have big round eyes.
Look at how long our eyes are! Shaped like ikan bilis.

38
People-Mountain-People-Sea

39
Took quite a while for Bobby to figure out I wanted a photo of me touching the dome.

07

Bobby, disappointed by the size of it.
He was picturing like those in Transformer 2.

Asked him to act as if he could like the tank.

08

And he gave me a super layan picture.

Told him he should put more expressions so that it will look more real, like this..

09
Squeezed all the muscles on your face.
But I laughed.

10

People queuing for their turns.

We were too lazy to queue for anything, but the free teh tarik.

11
Spot us.

Zoom-in.

12

Zoom-in x 2

13

Zoom-in x 3

14

Hahahhaaa.
Lame.

There were a lot of people hogging the space in front of those glass cabinets showcasing missiles and guns taking picture with their professional DSLRs. Bobby got all kiasu and wanted to join in the crowd too and took the pictures below.

1.

15

2.

16

3.

17

And, he gave up.
Hahahhaaa.

Continue on our journey.

18

Am-chio duo.

19

My new boyfriend.

20
Bobby found this photo rather amusing.

21

Cannot laugh one. Must act-cool.

22
Ah Pui trying it out.

Wandered around Mata-Mata area waiting for 6pm to arrive.
Dined in at Cottage Grill.

23

25
Side Order, Sandwiches & Pastries and Individual Grilled Items.

26
Love the sparkling juices.
B$ 2.50 per bottle.

27
Pie-Tee! My favorite!
(Even though I could hardly find bits and pieces of shrimps in it now compare to years ago)

Er.. ya, I know its not in the menu but you can still order it if you want since Sweet & Savoury and Cottage Grill share the same management and staffs, I think.

28

Garlic bread, complimentary from ordering the soup.

29
Mushroom soup.

30
Bobby’s Fish & Chips.

Instead of coleslaw, they served pickled vegetables instead, sour sour~

I opted for varieties, as usual.
*greedy*

31

Beef sausages, Lamb shoulder chop and corn on cob.

Total amount: B$ 29.00
Not bad actually.

Went to the Mall after dinner.
Hehhee. Bought Hermes.

32

Yup! I finally named it.
After having so many choices and recommendations from friends.

33

34
A B$ 3.50 toy keeps me happy all day long.

When Bobby bought it for me, I hesitated for a while because I don’t know what will my mum say. So, Bobby thought of a very good alasan for me.

“You tell your mum I won this from arcade for you lah.”

Hahhahaaa.
Good or not my boyfriend. Always ready with scripts to tipu my mum.
Boh-di-dui… BOBBY LIM! You always lie to me also one is it?

But, I didn’t use the reason because when my mum saw it, she thought it’s very cute too. Hahahhaa. I totally forgot that my mum was the one who bought me a lot of stupid useless stationeries last time. She damn game for those silly stuffs one.

And now, Hermes stands next to my table accompanying me while I surf and blog.
