I’d bought a lot of headbands from my last Bangkok trip at a really cheap price, comparing to the price selling at the local stores. And lately, I’d came across a lot of blog sites selling handmade headbands/ head pieces at a relatively… expensive price.
(Not sure for you, but any headbands more than $10 is expensive to me!)
This,
I bought from Chatuchak Market for about B$1.00.
Simple and Chic.
And yesterday, after surfing at couple of blogshops selling headbands, I went googled DIY headbands myself and yet… it all looks so tough to make lah!
Hence, I came up with my own version.
Way simpler and, cheap.
Ingredients:
Necklace, any necklace…. as long as it’s long enough.
Definitely not metal one ya. Preferably those beady type.
And,
Rubber band.
Here I’m going to use a necklace, which I never wear because… I think it was some sort of hand-me-down. Am not a accessories-person.
First step, make an arch and shape your necklace like this (below).
So, that’s how your headband is going to look like, on your head.
Then all you need to do is to attach both ends up with the rubber band.
Tie knots.
Snip off the extras.
There, a stretchy headband!
Ceng ceng ceng ceng~
Not bad right? Can recycle your necklace like that.
Then, I tried with a more beady necklace with a big heart pendant.
Weeeee!
It works too!
I think it will be really cute if you have those necklaces with small teddy bears charms and so on!
Go on, try it out!
The good thing about this project is, if you want your necklace back.. just open up the knots or simply snip the rubber band!
Totally reversible!
